Metallic Epoxy Flooring in Wichita
A one-of-one floor. Nobody else will have yours.
What it is
What metallic is
Metallic epoxy is a poured, hand-worked finish. Pigmented metallic powders are moved through a clear resin, so the pattern develops as it cures. The result reads more like polished stone or liquid metal than a painted floor.
It is the highest-impact product we install and the most visually dramatic thing you can do to a concrete floor.
Best fit
Where it belongs
- Showrooms and retail
- Salons, studios, clinics and offices
- Basements and finished lower levels
- Man caves, bars and entertainment spaces
- Feature areas where the floor is meant to be noticed
A garage is a legitimate metallic candidate, but read the honest limitations below before you choose it for a working garage. For a working bay, a flake garage floor coating is usually the better floor.
Read this first
The honest limitations
- You cannot pick the exact pattern — We can control the palette and the general character. We cannot promise you a specific swirl, because the material moves as it cures.
- Repairs cannot be blended invisibly — If a metallic floor is damaged, a patch will be visible. A flake floor can be repaired far more discreetly.
- Imperfections in the slab telegraph through — Metallic is glossy and reflective, so every low spot, ripple and trowel mark in the concrete underneath shows. Flake hides substrate imperfection, metallic reveals it.
- It is slippery when wet — Gloss and water do not mix. We can add an anti-slip additive, which reduces the gloss.
- It is not for exterior use without a UV-stable topcoat — Ask us before you put metallic outside.
- It costs more than flake — More material, more labor, more skill, and it takes longer.
We would rather talk you out of metallic than install one you are not happy with. If your slab is rough or your space gets wet, we will tell you flake is the better floor.
Installation
How it is installed
- Inspect and measure the floor.
- Moisture test the slab.
- Degrease any contaminated areas.
- Full diamond grind, including edges and corners.
- Crack and spall repair.
- Double HEPA vacuum.
- The metallic system goes down and is hand-worked while it is wet.
Metallic is not a training job. It is installed by our most experienced hands.
